Taxi in Tortola

I finally convinced DH to not go on the Princess excursion by showing him comments about the transportation. We want to tour the island, but we want to do it comfortably. Will we be able to choose a taxi that will have comfortable seating or will all transportation be pretty much the same as what Princess provides?

I have just returned and loved Tortola even though it rained. The Taxis are probaby the same as those used by Princess. It certainly was so for HAL. The price is much cheaper if you walk into town (about 5 mins). You have a choice in taxis some are small mini bus style and others are open sided. We took one operated by a guy called Styles. It was open sided and needed care climbing up and down onto it. But he was very interesting especially when it came to the Islands fauna and Flora and it only cost $15 each for 2 1/2 hours, GOOD VALUE.
