I'm so confused! Cave tubing choices?

Hi. I have read too many posts on cave tubing and now am totally confused. Almost everyone loved the company they used. I have seen very few negatives. Are they really about the same, and does it matter which one I choose for my group of 11 teens? Has anyone out there done tubing more than once with differnent companies? What was the difference?

Since the teens are paying for this trip themselves, unless someone comes up with a really good reason to go with a particular company, we will be driven by cost, and I believe Reggies, prepaid at $55 is the lowest I've seen. Are any of the following better/cheaper:
xtreme, coral breeze, wet and wild, any others?

Hi Deb and Jerry,

I agree that there might not be much of a difference among the tour companies as they are all pretty much offering the same thing. So go for the best price.

My family and I went cave-tubing once and we loved it! My brother, my son and I even got to swing like Tarzan from a vine that was hanging over the river. I tell you, that was so much fun! We're hoping to do it again soon. As a matter of fact, I'm working on a website for the tour guide who took us (hoping to get him to take us for free next time :) ). His name is Yhony Rosado. Visit his website at www.cave-tubing.com. He's offering a special promotion for the months of November and December. Only $40 per person! I have yet to see a better price.

Oh, and if you do decide to go with him make sure to tell him I referred you. ;)

David, I followed your link but don't find any info as to departure times, length of tour, what all is included etc. etc. etc. (But I do like the idea that you don't pay until the end of the tour)

Do you have an email address I could contact them? Or, since you're working on their site might you have this info? OOPS, I SEE THEY HAVE CONTACT INFO IF YOU GO TO "RESERVE A TOUR". SORRY

thanks

(Here's the first reply from them I was unsure exactly of some of their answers so I emailed them a 2nd time. That reply follows). Still somewhat vague as to exactly when they depart, but I booked with them. Looks like they take off when everyone is there, but I'm not sure how many people are on their boats.

First of all thank you for chosing us for your cave tubing adventure in Belize.

Time: It does'nt matter if its 8 am ship or Belize time. What is important is that you and your family get off the ship as early as possible in the first tenders.
Arriving at the docking area you will see the lighthouse and some vans and minibuses parked beside it, does are our cave tubing vehicles. Walk outside through terminal 1, we will be waiting there for you with your name on a board.
The payment is $40 us cash per person after the tour. We cover tranportation, equipments, tour guiding through the cave and national park fees. Just bring along your water shoes and towels. You can tell any other friends about us. They are welcome too.

For any questions

(Here's the 2nd email I rec)

Time: the time varies with all the cruise ship , it is very important for you to get off the ship very early , the first tenders if possible. I am out there from 6am waiting for my guests. We don't depart until I meet all my guests. This should take between 30-45 min. to gather everyone. We have vans of 6 , 14, 24, passengers so it varies. I hope this answers all your questions.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to meet you.

We went with Marvin - Wet 'n' Wild. It was the best $60 we ever spent and it included lunch. We narrowed our search down to Reggie, Xtreme and Marvin. Xtreme told us not to use Reggie - so we narrowed it down to Reggie and Marvin. I can't remember what made us choose on over the other - they both answered our questions by email and both seemed honest and reputable. We did this excursion last week and are quite pleased with our decision.

Thanks for all your input. Since the kids are for saving money, we will book with the $40 option David recommended and Monte booked with. I am just getting a final headcount before I book. A few of my group don't want to do it.

Monte when are you cruising?

Monte when are you cruising?
We're sailing Dec 11 and in Belize Dec 15. I'll be happy to let you know how things work out for us. As you're sailing in Feb you should have plenty of time to book with someone else should we encounter any "major" problems.

It'll be just after Christmas before I can do any reviews as we're spending a week in Orlando after the cruise.

'cept by the time we get to orlando, I'm afraid we'll be broke. Excursions for 4 add up (even the cheap ones). But we do get to fly to Washington State from Fl on Christmas day. We're really looking forward to that Coke and bag of peanuts for Christmas Dinner!

BTW-we've cruised Alaska 3 times, I hope you have as good a time as we did.

LOL
