Island Princess early boarding in San Pedro?

This will be our first cruise with Princess after four with Celebrity. We've always been able to board early, between 11 - 11:30 am, for a 5pm sailing. About what time can we expect to start boarding the Island Princess for a 5pm sailing?

 

Also, has anyone come across a review of the Island Princess 15 day Hawaii cruises? I've looked and found nothing.

Just returned fron the October 21 sailing. We boarded with a friend who is a platnuim memeber of the Captins circle. That begain around 11:30AM

That's gerat news, thanks for replying. Though this is our first Princess cruise, there is a "Platinum Check-in" sticker on our documents, I assume because we have a mini-suite (????), so hopefully we can get on at 11:30 as well.

 

How was your cruise? Have you posted a review any where? We're really looking forward to trying Princess for the first time.

We just did the 15 day Hawaiian cruise that left on 10/21. It was great. We also had Platinum check in because we were in a mini suite. When we arrived the Platinum line was a shorter than the regular line, and it didn't take long to get on the ship. We really enjoyed the cruise. The ship is just immaculate. I was worried about being at sea so long, but honestly we both loved it. It was so relaxing. The five port days all in a row are exhausting, so the return trip was a great way to unwind.

Another post indicated that the casino is closed while touring thru Hawaii. Is that true :(

Yes, the casino is closed the entire time you are in Hawaii.

Just for clarification, the casino is required by law to close when in US waters. The 'gambling ships" that go out for the evening from US ports must go out 3 miles before the games begin. Or so I'm told....
