Guess it couldn't hurt to ask once more: Anybody heard of Dan Gilharducci?

 

I am glad you asked again because I am so anxious to hear about him since we are going to have him on our cruise. Let's hope someone has heard of him.

I believe the correct spelling is Ghilarducci.

anybody know who 'gary brierley' is?

 

big tex is getting off valor on 9/06, back 10/18 - with gary in between.

 

i've never heard of him. and he's not listed as a cruise director on the carnival entertainment page...

 

methinks i'm getting an ACD stand-in?

 

i don't think that's an equitable trade for big tex :p

Is there anyone out there who truly picks which cruise they go on by who the CD is on the ship? It doesn't matter to me if it were Julie, Gopher, Doctor or Issac from the Love Boat. We go of a cruise to relax and have fun. If they are a CD they should know something about make sure people have fun. If they didn't I am sure my wife and I could still have a great time on the ship. The only one I still remember his name was John and that is more because it was our first and I have since heard so much about him here.

Great for you that it makes no difference to you! I am happy for you. Really, I am.

John was not our first, but the first one whose name I remember and the one who made me understand the difference a cd can make in my cruise.

This thread is for those who do care and want to know. It is not for justifying our interest in the subject to those who don't understand.

I guess I will wait for a while before I get to see who will be the Cd on our Feb2011 cruise...LOL....Our first cruise in 1998 on the Destiny, we had the pleasure of having John Heald...absolutely so funny and to this day I still catch his blog every day....on our second cruise in 2001 on the Celebration we had a man by the name of Dave Armour and we really enjoyed him too, but I don't see his name on the list so I guess he has moved on....does anyone know what may have happened to him?

Anyone with any idea if Risa was/is going to stay with the Fantasy the rest of the year? I have 2 more cruises, 9/28 and 11/30 this year and am so hoping she has moved on by then.

 

Speaking only for me, I suspect that the people who are questioning what difference it makes if the CD is good or not have never sailed with a good one. Once you have one, you'll know what the difference is. Just MHO.

Stuart Dunn, currently cd on Elation, will be taking over on Spirit when Chris "Bubb" Roberts leaves Carnival in mid-October.

Risa is scheduled to be on vacation 9/19 - 11/05. Kevin Noonan is on the schedule for her vacation relief.

Don't know if you will be too impressed with Stuart Dunn either. I had him a couple of years ago and found him to be very arrogant and unapproachable (and I was simply complimentaing his staff).
