Skip Lyons from Australia is the current CD on Inspiration. We have found that the previous CDs we have had have been obnoxious at times. Skip seemed to be well balanced, not overbearing, good humor (a few times off-color, but limited).

 

Of the 4 CDs we have been with, I think I enjoyed Skip the most. He has been with CCL since 1996 he told us at the Q&A session on Sunday, May 31. He started out in the casino and told he was too loud for that area -- but he was not overly loud as a CD. He said he requested to be on the Inspiration -- he was around much of the time.

 

 

Funny I didn't really care for him when I was on the Inspiration, May 14th! It didnt mess my cruise up! :)

I know Todd Wittmer is currently in Italy checkin out the Dream with John Heald, but does anyone know when he'll be back, or if he'll be back on the Freedom this Saturday????If not, who the CD will be in his place?

It should still be Ryan Fitzgerald. He just started early May, replacing Butch.

 

 

I thought Butch was going to be on Glory till it left port canaveral? He said he was taking a vacation in May, but would be back till it's farewell to Port Canaveral.

 

 

Does anyone know who is on Miracle in November?

You're right, Shawn's a she---she was on the Legend in November. I wonder if she is still doing it though because she was expecting and had announced it then and I thought was due this past spring. At the Q&A on the ship, she was going to "retire" after the baby. Use-less info, I know. :o)

Looks like Goose will be back on the Splendor halfway through the cruise. Does anyone know if that means he takes over halfway, or is he just on the boat unpacking his bags for a few days until the one cruise is finished.

Anybody had Butch as their CD? If so, how is he? Looks like he's on the Liberty for our 10/14/09 sailing.

 

Butch is a great CD - he probably ranks #2 on my list of the ones we've sailed with. You'll have a great time with him - he's one of those CDs who gets very involved in things and is very high energy. Make sure you go to his Disco dance class whether you participate or just watch - lots of fun! :)

After reading the CD list, it appears that Goose will be a permanent addition to the Splendor. I hope I'm not out of line in saying this but we talked to several people who had done the 49 dayer around the horn on the Splendor last winter. Almost to a man (or woman) they were united in that they did not like Goose as a CD. I was glad to see Brad was the CD when we did our Splendor cruise on 5/24/09 but it looks like we will not be so lucky when we return on 1/17/10. Oh well, we'll just have to find other things to occupy us.

Who is Dan Ghilardcucci? I see that he is the cd on the pride when we go in august. Is he good?

 

I'm wondering the same thing -- asked on the other thread where this list was posted. I've never heard of him, but since he's only there for a month I wouldn't be surprised if he's an Assistant CD or newbie CD in training or something...

 

Hopefully someone can answer our question / has heard of him!

I very much disagree. Goose was a very good cruise director. I am interested in being a cruise director and Goose took time out of his busy schedule to talk to me about it. After this he remembered my name for the rest of the cruise. and than on the last day I asked him if he would be able to get me a fun for all, all for fun bracelet like the one he had on, and he took the one right of his wrist and gave it to me. He is one of if not the best cruise director Carnival has because if he wasn't than he wouldn't be the cruise director and there newest ship. Have a good cruise and im sure you will enjoy Goose.

I did not like him either. I'm sailing Splendor 6/14 thru 6/21, and I was glad that we would have Brad as the CD, but if Goose comes back on 6/18, does he resume right away, or does Brad get to finish out that particular cruise. I'm hoping the latter.
