St Martin for a Day

Hey everybody -

 

Just wandering if anyone has any recomendations for what to do for the day in St Martin. We are arriving at 9:00a.m. Feb 3rd and Leaving at 5:00p.m.

 

Here is what I have got so far . . . .

 

There are 4 in our group. All early 40's and physically fit. We thought about Orient beach for most of the day. Then do a little shopping -Rimas etc..

 

 

Any ideas about location on Orient? I think we are leaning toward Pirate but open for ideas.

 

Are we missing any must do activities? Hot spots? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

After a quick stop at the Belgian chocolate shop on Old Street, head for a beach. The snorkeling is great! But stay on the west side of the island. The surf on the Atlantic side is much rougher.

We did that and enjoyed every minute of it. Very highly recommended!

If you're on the Liberty then we're on the same ship (20 days, not that I'm counting!).

 

I've done quite a bit of reading over the past few months and it seems like the Pirate Beach Bar is the way to go at Orient.

 

Our plan is to hit the Pirate first thing in the morning and relax on the beach until lunch. After that, head to Maho beach to watch the planes for an hour or two. I've read that traffic in and out of the Maho area can be a bear, but I'm a pilot and love aircraft so we're just going to deal with the traffic.

Any ideas of the costs at the Pirate Beach Bar...especially the adult beverages :+)
