SnootieTootie Posted January 10, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 10, 2009 We have not found flights for our April 4 cruise as of yet. It seems to be cheaper to fly into SNA, Orange County, Ca., verses LAX. Does anyone know appx. how long of a drive it is from SNA to the San Pedro pier? is their any public transportation available, or would renting a car be the best option? MN-CZ Posted January 10, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 10, 2009 There appears to be many shuttle options on the SNA website. Most have a link to their own websites. http://www.ocair.com/groundtransport/shuttles.htm
SnootieTootie Posted January 10, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted January 10, 2009 Thanks so much Mn_CZ, that information was very helpful. With the info that you provided the link to, I called Super Shuttle and got some answers to all of my questions. Thanks again.
firhill Posted January 11, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 11, 2009 I.m in LB as we speak. Reading the flyer in the hotel room here, the only transportation mentioned is .. The local taxi company who you can contact by going to their website which is www.longbeachyellowcab.com LongBeach Transit ...you can travel one-way for 90cents.To see their routes go to www.lbtransit.com Not sure if the above may be deleted as they are business links...hopefully not...if they are,my apologies to CC as no intention to promote either is intended...just tryin to help out a fellow CC'er. bfree32 Posted January 11, 2009 #5 Share Posted January 11, 2009 Not sure about best mode of transportation, but the fact that OC is a little further to Long Beach than LAX is negated by the fact that you don't need to mess with LAX. Lines for security are often horrible. Renting a car is a pain. All of this is easy at the newer, smaller, cleaner John Wayne Airport.
BarBug Posted January 11, 2009 #6 Share Posted January 11, 2009 I live very near SNA and am going on the Star in February. For us to drive, it's about 20 minutes if no traffic, but we know where we are going and how to get there. I think Super Shuttle is a great idea. Leafpeeper Posted January 11, 2009 #8 Share Posted January 11, 2009 Our son lives in LA, so we definetely would prefer flying to John Wayne over LAX. We love that Jetblue flies from Boston to Long Beach--much better than LAX. We loved our cruise on Star a couple years ago when we went to Alcapulco--loved Ixtapa most of all. We'd book it again in a heartbeat if they bring that itinerary back some day. Enjoy the movie theater on Star. We are sailing NCL Gem on Wednesday and wish they had not taken the movie theater out on their new ships. We love it on longer cruises with multiple sea days.
