reginar Posted January 14, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 14, 2009 Last year I cruised pride in Jan with a group of family members. When I opened my suitcase I found a wooden chip like a casino chip , it wasnt there when I left home so I wondered if it was something carnival put in there so Id know they searched my bag. Everything looked untouched except for the addition of this chip.No one else in my group had one and I asked a couple carnival people what it was (no one knew). Anyone else ever have something like this happen?
momofzeke Posted January 14, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 14, 2009 Weird! The only time my bags were searched, it was at the airport by TSA.....not by Carnival. TSA left a note in my bag saying it had been searched. Was there something written on the chip? Maybe someone was just messin' with ya!

bdub3535 Posted January 14, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 14, 2009 Too bad it wasn't a potato chip. That'd be a nice treat.

Ken076 Posted January 14, 2009 #6 Share Posted January 14, 2009 Carnival doesn't normally search your baggage; if the X-Ray shows something they hold the bag and ask you to come and open it. Was your bag locked, as suggested by Carnival? ken
karenw Posted January 14, 2009 #7 Share Posted January 14, 2009 Oh but Carnival does search your bag if they wish. And if they have questions, they call your name on the intercom till you show up and talk to security.:D
shipty2 Posted January 14, 2009 #8 Share Posted January 14, 2009 My bags are searched pretty much every single time I fly. A couple weeks ago they were searched because of some jerk seasoning I bought in St maarten was sniffed out by the dogs. Last year it was a buzz lightyear blaster I bought at Disney. They always leave a note in the bags. Sometimes like this latest one I have been paged and asked to be present when they open the bag. Sometimes I have got the note from TSA but no explaination as to why. I also had someone open my bag last year when I got off the Liberty. Nothing was taken or left but it was not as DH had packed it. We had done laundry and repacked everything neatly to hop on the Fascination the next day but when we got to the hotel and opened it we noticed things moved around. When I had my old luggage this never happened but we bought the shiny Heys x case luggage 3 years ago. I don't know if it calls attention to it because it is shiny or what. reginar Posted January 15, 2009 Author #9 Share Posted January 15, 2009 It was a $25 chip , wooden poorly made had nothing else printed on it. I didnt lock my case , after traversing 3 airports I forgot to put the lock on. 2 of our group arrived with no luggage at all , Im just glad mine got there chip or no chip. Guess its just a mystery.
