3 ships in port = crowded at Lamanai?

We have found at least 2 other ships will be in Belize the day we're there. At least one of them is one of those huge ships that carry over 3000 pax. We are planning on going to Lamanai. Do you think it'll be "crowded" there? Will it be a traffic jam going up & down the ruins?

Has anyone ever had experience at Lam w/ 3 ships in port?

Thanks!

Depends on when the ships get in and when you book. I booked independently and left early in the morning with a very small group - 5 people had the site to ourselves (and the howler monkeys). As we returned we saw the huge speedboats coming the other way with about 50 people, just about swamping us. I would imagine larger tours require more time to get everyone together.

The site has several temples and covers a large area, so if the tour guides give each other space there should be plenty of room. Not many people go there because of the time factor, so it shouldn't be crowded. Beautiful place, you'll be glad you went.

we had, at least, 3 other cruise ships. not all the cruiselines offer lamanai...plus it's an all day tour and no everyone wants to do that.

there were 2 tours, the day we went..one from NCL and 1 from another ship. we were together for 5 mins at the river boat dock, otherwise we just saw them in passing. at lamanai, they stopped and had lunch 1st..where we went and toured the area, had lunch later. (one reason to bring our own water and some snacks)

since there are no roads, people can't just "show up".

it was very quiet and uncrowded the whole day. we had 25 on our tour, might have had about that on the other tour.
