White Pass & Yukon train question

We will be in Skagway at the end of May, and are trying to decide between the Chilkoot Charters 7 hr trip, and the 9 hr trip. Is it worth the extra $50+p/p to go further into the Yukon? How much farther does it go? Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated.

The 9-hour doesn't go further into the Yukon, it just goes further by train. If you look at the route map at http://wpyr.com/multimedia/routemap.html the bus picks you up at Fraser on the 7-hour and picks you up at Carcross on the 9-hour. The 9-hour gives you a great circle trip with almost no duplication of route.

I looked at that map, but I don't see where the circle route is. Is it on the other side of the canal?

It's not very obvious, but you can see where the highway veers away to the right (east) while the train goes up Lake Bennett.
