Paradise 1/9/09 birthday cruise review!!!

I just got back on Monday from the 3 day to Ensenada for my 40th Birthday. I guess this was only the 2nd or 3rd cruise out since the Paradise got the renovation. It was beautiful! I have never been on this ship but I loved it. We had 31 people in our group, everything from wild to those getting up at 6am to work out (ick!) The public areas were so nice, the food was great, no complaints. In fact, my best friend had gone on the 4 day baja trip on RCC and said that this ship was by far superior to that one. She said the casino was WAY bigger, more like a Vegas one. Everything was great. The adult comedy was funny. Others said the big shows were great too, but we always seemed to end up in the Rex Club dancing. We had a fun time in Ensenada too. Papas and Beer and Mango Mango! I also ordered something from the Bon Voyage department for everyone in my group and it was all delivered perfect. The service was great. If anyone has any questions, please ask me. I heard the art show was a hit too, very reasonable.

Oh, one more thing....We checked on our bags when we got there. But we decided to self-disembark to get off just so we didnt have to hassle with putting our luggage out the night before. It went so smoothly!!! We walked right off with no problems. I would highly recommend people do that if they can. Were on the road by 8:30 or 9:00. Otherwise we would of had to do the whole waiting around thing. That was another thing my friend said about RCC. They would not let you self-disembark, or at least they really disouraged it. She said this was the best!!! Also, we totally smuggled on booze in our checked luggage not problem. My friends even put it in their carry-on.

Paradise is a beautiful ship, and a great crew, so must look really nice now after the drydock.

I love Rex's too.

Well, we did have a crazy time!! We started at Papas and Beer and then went over to Mango Mango for the $20 all you can drink deal. My husband and his friend proceeded to buy wrestling masks and wear them while dancing on the bar with everyone else!! Then somehow my husband ended up with a whistle like they use in Papas and Beer and everyone on the ship was subjected to that, it was hilarious! We had a party of 31, it was fun.

So glad to hear that you loved the Paradise. We were on Paradise back in 2002 and just loved the ship! Back then it was a 7-day out of Miami. We have just booked a summer cruise and can't wait to be back on her. It is probably my favorite ship, more for sentimental reasons. It was the first cruise we took our kids on, 14 and 11 back then.
