izmir shopping

Cruise ship stopping for 8 hours and we don't fancy any of the tours so thought we might just go shopping.:) How much should we expect to pay a taxi to take us from the port into Izmir? Would the driver return for us at a set time? Any other tips for shopping there?

Thanks for posting this. I was wondering this as well. Although we will not only be shopping when we are in Izmir I would like to know the price of a taxi.
