katier825 Posted January 19, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 19, 2009 Is anyone familiar with the pricing of categories on Carnival? I was wondering if I booked an inside guarantee, if there was a possibility I'd get stuck with an upper/lower berth cabin. The inside guarantee pricing is a little more than the upper/lower, but I don't see anything that says you wouldn't end up with it. Thanks
maxamuus Posted January 19, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 19, 2009 With the Inside Guarantee you are guaranteed at least a 4A so no you wouldn't need to worry about it.

Thanks I think it would depend on the ship/class; not all the 1A insides have the upper/lower berths (I'm not sure, but I believe this is the case with the Spirit class ships). Cruzman Posted January 19, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 19, 2009 Cabins with upper/lower bunkbeds are category 1A. If you book a cat 4A guarantee, there is no possibility that you will be assigned a 1A.
katier825 Posted January 19, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted January 19, 2009 Cabins with upper/lower bunkbeds are category 1A. If you book a cat 4A guarantee, there is no possibility that you will be assigned a 1A. Unfortunately, it's not worded that way with the category I'm referring to. It's called an IS. The upper/lower is IA, and the rest start with 4A, 4B, etc.
welldone60 Posted January 20, 2009 #6 Share Posted January 20, 2009 IS means inside. You will not get a 1A with a GTY IS. You will get a 4A or better.
Ken076 Posted January 20, 2009 #7 Share Posted January 20, 2009 The IS "Inside Cabin" starts at 4A. The CAT 1A are in a Category of their own. ken
