HoJo to Port for 13 people

We are sailing on the Voyager from Galveston on Feb 15. There are 3 families (13 people) staying at the HoJo Express and leaving our rental cars there. Rather than shuttling back and forth and then getting a cab, can anyone suggest a service that could take all of us the short distance from hotel to port, and back again the following week?

 

Given the exhorbitant rates for shuttles from the airports to Galveston I'm almost afraid to ask.

You'll just have to get the local cab company to shuttle you. It's not very far from the cruiseport at all but there's most likely a set fee. We had friends that sailed with us last year and they stayed at the Ramada (we only live 40 miles away so we drive!) on the Seawall and the cost was $12 per cab.

Curious to what you found out once you got there and experienced this first hand. We are going in two weeks and are also staying at the HoJO.. Any words of advice?
