Transportation Question

Hi!

We will be traveling to St. Thomas this February. We will be arriving in Charlotte Amalie and would like to go to the Mountain top for a bit and then head over to Coki beach. We were wondering what is the best way to get around and how much we should plan on spending on transportation.

I would suggest a tour with Godfrey. He will take you all over the island including Mountain Top and then let you spend time at the beach and come back to pick you up. The price is very reasonable. You can also include time for shopping.

Do you know if your ship will be at Havensight or Crown Bay or anchored in the harbor? If not, what ship are you on and what day will you be on St. Thomas?

Carnival usually docks at the WICO dock in Havensight.

 

Havensight to Mountain Top would be $8 pp, ow. Mountain Top to Coki would be around $9 pp, ow. Coki to Havensight $9 pp, ow. Taxis will be readily available at the cruise dock and at Coki, however the ones at Mountain Top are usually on tours. You will likely want to arrange for the driver that takes you to Mountain Top to wait for you. There is usually an additional charge for waiting. Your best bet is before getting in the taxi at Havensight to discuss with the dispatcher and driver what it is you want to do exactly and get the price for Havensight to Mountain Top - waiting - then Coki.

 

Mountain Top is a popular stop on island tours, and in tours you usually can ask to be dropped at a beach after (again you need to discuss your plans before heading off and get the final price)... Sightseeing Tours: 2 hours - One passenger $50; two or more passengers $25 per person. 3 hours - One passenger $60; two or more passengers $30 per person.
