cruizincrazy Posted January 23, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 23, 2009 Are there the $2 open air taxis around Crown Bay that go to Red Hook for the ferry or do we have to use a regular taxi to get to Red Hook? Cruizincrazy
Eileen G Posted January 24, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 24, 2009 We were docked in Crown Bay and took the 2$ bus to Red hook. You have to leave the dock and walk to the main road. The road will come to a Y. Keep to the left. you will come to a Kentucky Fried chicken. You need to cross the street to catch the bus(taxi). Just flag it down when you see it coming. You can also just ask someone where to stand. It will probably take at least half hour to 40 min. On the way back you need to get back on the bus going the same direction you came from as the route is a loop and does not go back the way it came. Just follow all the locals out to the street. __________________
cruizincrazy Posted January 24, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted January 24, 2009 Eileen, thanks for the info, we appreciate it. When you say it will be a half hour to forty minutes, are you referring to how long you have to wait for one of the busses or are you referrng to how long the trip is to Red Hook? If we have to wait that long for a bus to come plus the travel time to Red Hook, we will probably just take a regular taxi. How long did you have to wait for the bus to come? Eileen G Posted January 24, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 24, 2009 That's how long the ride is to red hook. The dollar taxis come along about every 5-10 minutes.
cruizincrazy Posted January 24, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted January 24, 2009 Thanks again Eileen. We'll give the open air taxis a go when we're in St. Thomas in March. Cruizincrazy
