Lainey Elizabeth Posted November 17, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 17, 2004 Any information anyone has on the Mercury Library would be appreciated. Size, Selection, etc. Thanks
StephenJohnson Posted November 17, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 17, 2004 Pretty limited library, some reference material, I can usually pick out a book or two worth reading.
raudacruise Posted November 17, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 17, 2004 Go early, as soon it opens apparently. We saw folks walking out with 5 books. A few days later went to find there was absolutely nothing that interested us.
ajpack Posted November 17, 2004 #4 Share Posted November 17, 2004 I agree--they have a limited selection of books. I managed to find a John Grisham book I hadn't already read. Another complaint---they aren't open for the entire day. It's open for 2 hours at a time--maybe twice a day. When we were on the Majesty of the Seas a few years ago, it was open all day. You could go and sit on comfortable sofas and read. Mercury has tables (like card tables) and chairs for 4 set up around the room. A suggestion---check out your book and head to the Navigator lounge---it really peaceful in the daytime.
howard6933 Posted November 17, 2004 #5 Share Posted November 17, 2004 I've been on many ships over the years and regarding their libraries is a "luck of the draw" situation. Some ships have great libraries and others have not so great libraries. My wife and I always bring our own books with us, and many times after reading them, we just leave them on the ship so that they can add them to their "so-called" colletions. Your best bet is to just get a few books before your cruise and bring them on board with you.;)
