Do you put cruise luggage tags on at home ?

Do you usually put your cruise luggage tags on @ home, or do you wait until you claim your luggage at port of departure. Seems they would not last through the airport experience. Thanks.

We always have put ours on at home, haven't had any trouble yet.

I wait until I am at the port to put them on if I am flying. I have had them tear off enroute.

I wait to put them on at the port but I do put a copy of my itinerary in an outside pocket of my luggage in the event the luggage gets lost.

I never put the cruise line luggage tags on before the flight. I do it either at the airport in the luggage pick up area or at the Hotel if I have a pre cruise stay. Well on my next cruise I receive edocs and I won´t have the tags until arriving at the port.

It depends on how much time you have from the time you get to your destination airport and the ship. If you are flying in the same day most likely your bags will go on a bus at the airport and you will not see them until they arrive at your cabin door. So if that is you senario then I recommend putting them on at home.

I never put the tags on until we get to the port. I see no reason to put them on before we fly and advertise to total strangers that we are going on a cruise.

Even if flying in the same day and having transfer through the cruise line you´ll have to pick up your luggage at the airport by yourself for security reasons. IMO that´s the right time to put on your tags.
