Belize & Roatan water Temps

We leave Sunday (Feb 1) on Pearl. Planning on diving belize, roatan & cozumel. I was planning on wearing my 2mm shorty. I'm now having second thoughts. A friend was to belize a few years ago and said he wore a 3mm full length suit because he was too cold.

 

What has been others experience for early Feb diving in these spots ??

 

I'll also post on the port destinations but thought I'd try here as well.

I wear a 3mm shorty in these areas at this time of year with no problem being to cold. My wife however wears a 3/2 full suit and likes it a lot better above and below the surface especially with the wind from the boat going from 1 dive sight to the other then back to the dock wet. She wears a 3mm shorty the rest of the year, and is very comfortable.

 

We will leave Galveston on the Ecstasy Feb 2nd so we will all be diving about the same time. Let us know how you like it if you get a chance.

I was there at both ports a couple of weeks ago, and snorkled. Just to let you know, I am very cold natured and the water was just fine. I could have stayed in it all day.:)

I dove in Belize in early December and the water was fine, just a swim suit. Not sure about Feb. Hope the weather is better than when I was there it was rough seas getting to dive site.
