MickeyB426 Posted February 3, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 3, 2009 Hi...I'm in a position to invite someone along on our cruise on February 15, but this person (Adult, US citizen) does not have a passport. We are doing the Western Caribbean in the Independence out of FTL (Costa Maya, Cozumel, Belize). Are passports required for travel to these places? I see on the RCI website that a birth certificate and a government-issued ID (Driver's License) are what's required. I'm wondering if this is still the case. (Yes, I'm aware that a passport is the normal way to go and highly recommended, but this is a last minute situation) Thanks!
alwayshappytocruise Posted February 3, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 3, 2009 I believe that you're ok until June 2009 to travel with a birth cert. and drivers license. There was a huge influx of passport applications so they extended the date. I suggest you call RCCL to confirm since you will need to add a name to the existing reservation anyway. cruisePRN Posted February 3, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 3, 2009 Know that you need an official birth certificate with the state seal, not a copy or a hospital certificate.
