Charleston Port's Future?

It's sad that the NCL Majesty will no longer sail out of Charleston since it has been sold. Does anyone know if anything is being discussed for another ship or cruiseline to fill the void at this port??? :(

Yes there is:

Several stops by Carnival... we are going on Carnival May 25th from Charleston. It just goes to the Bahamas but as we live here we DON'T care.... no driving.

Ahh, Bobs, I was really hoping you would see & reply to my post! I am so glad to know that there will be other cruises from C's port! We have thought for years that we wanted to try a cruise out of Charleston and were disappointed to learn, when we booked this one, that the ship was leaving :(. I am looking forward to being in Charleston and hope to visit again this summer or fall. We go to Hilton Head at least once every year and have discussed coming to Charleston so many times but we always decide we won't know what to do when we get there...crazy, because we love to travel. Maybe you can give us some tips on where to go, stay, and what to see?

There is an abundance of stuff to do here.

This island has nice beaches and some reasonably priced rooms... plus plenty of rental houses/condos.

About downtown and The city of Charleston.

About the county.

One list of stuff.

If coming to the area I would recommend staying downtown for a few nights, doing the stuff there and then going to Isle of Palms/Kiawah for a few days.

There is also Folly Beach.

That's when we are going on a cruise... May 25th is Memorial Day and the Carnival Triumph is doing a 5 night cruise to the Bahamas. A great time to visit but will be busy.
