caribbean dreams Posted February 11, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 11, 2009 They don't offer galley tours on all the ships.
TheVegasMan Posted February 11, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 11, 2009 On Holland America they not only had a tour they had cooking classes. On Carnival we were on the Victory and were in port everyday, not sure if they offered tours of the galley or classes.

MarylandLady Posted February 11, 2009 #8 Share Posted February 11, 2009 If you are on a ship with a supper club, check out the cooking demonstrations they might have up there, too. When I was on the Liberty last year I stopped up there one day to make reservations for dinner, and there was a group of folks getting a demonstration. Looked interesting. I may check it out next time I sail. I'm sure it will be listed in the capers.
sixgun8 Posted February 11, 2009 #9 Share Posted February 11, 2009 We had a galley tour on the conquest, but it consisted of about a 30 minute talk from the head maitre D about a lot of stats on how much food they use and such, then we lined up and walked through the kitchen. In the kitchen they had a few tables of demos, one for the decorative food like the crved melons and such. One for the orderable desserts. One that had all the veggies they use on the menu. One with some seafood and cuts of meat. and that was about it.
