k4btzs Posted December 29, 2009 #26 Share Posted December 29, 2009 We are looking at the Pirates of the Caribbean Standard ziplining. Can anyone tell me do all the standard zips have 2 lines that you are hooked to? I am seeing several pictures with just 1 line and that has me a bit scared (yes, chicken). gracie65 Posted December 29, 2009 #27 Share Posted December 29, 2009 We are looking at the Pirates of the Caribbean Standard ziplining. Can anyone tell me do all the standard zips have 2 lines that you are hooked to? I am seeing several pictures with just 1 line and that has me a bit scared (yes, chicken). When we did this in August of 08 it only had one safety clip. I will say I'm glad we did it & it has by far been the best zipline we've ever done. Did one the next day in Belize & it was still fun but not nearly as exciting & having the views as this one did. When I found out it only had one safety I just kind of reasoned like I do everytime I get behind the wheel of a car. I don't stop driving because of accidents & at the time I researched this one it had not had any but the one that the cruiselines goes to there had just before in the summer of 08. Swalotail Posted January 2, 2010 #28 Share Posted January 2, 2010 In august of 2009 we went ziplining at Pirates of Caribbean . We did the extreme zipline. We all enjoyed it very much. Everyone was very helpful. Valjean Dixon delivered everything he promised. They are a great company and have great customer service!
SeeJ79 Posted April 5, 2010 #29 Share Posted April 5, 2010 Has anyone done the Pirates Extreme zip in the last few months? Their website states: "Our dual zip lines were designed for your safety by a French Engineer who specializes in Zip lines." Does this mean that all their zip lines are this way now? I wasn't sure if they had added additional lines recently since many of these posts about there just being one line are from last year.
Scrapchick Posted April 11, 2010 #30 Share Posted April 11, 2010 Just did Pirates last week, and also did zip lining in Costa Rica earlier in the week. Pirates has two clips and two cables... One clip per cable, running side by side. They do not use chest safety harnesses. The Costa Rica company I went with did use chest harnesses and also used two separate clips attached to just the one cable.

Glad to hear this since I have not heard back from Pirates when I e-mailed them from their website. I did receive the computer generated auto-response so I know it isn't getting filtered into my junk mail. Has anyone else had any trouble getting in touch with them? Ive been trying for days to get in touch with them directly as well. Same here I get an auto response but nothing directly. I have no idea how to call them as I do not understand their phone number LOL. Please advise if anyone was able to communicate with them
