CuteTheta Posted February 15, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2009 I am hoping to find out about some information about the area near Seven Mile Beach. DH and I are hoping to enjoy the local scenery by taking a few mile jog in the seven mile beach area. For anyone who knows the area well (or has run in the area), where would be a good starting point? We are thinking of just taking a taxi into the area and jumping on sidewalks for a run. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
drew sailbum Posted February 15, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 15, 2009 Sidewalks are often narrow and not within site of the water. West Bay Road, which runs along Seven Mile Beach, is very busy with traffic. Perhaps more enjoyable would be a run in the Safehaven area. It is a popular area for local runners, especially on the weekends. The roads are not very busy so running on the roadside is not a problem. On the overall Grand Cayman map here: http://www.caymanlandinfo.ky/imagemapfiles/gcindex.htm Safehaven is the area in and around box #18 & #19. Run east along Safehaven past what is marked as The Links golf course. Turn left onto Crighton Drive. That takes you back in an area with wide streets, nice homes, and view of the canals. CuteTheta Posted February 15, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted February 15, 2009 Thanks for this running route! As far as a taxi from the cruise port what would be the best drop off location, the Westin?
