Taxi to and from Port of Miami

Hi there,

 

We need help to decide whether we should take transport through Carnival or just use the taxi, we are on the Carnival Valor for a Western Caribbean tour. We are done with everything except the transport to and from the Port of Miami. We will be flying the same day of the cruise early morning and will be flying out of Miami same day the ship comes back.

I have never been to Miami, how does the taxi's work on the airport, can we just hope in to any taxi from the airport or we need to book it? Also is the transport offered from Carnival, is it an individual coach or a bus?

Taxi fare is about $25 from MIA to pier or pier to MIA. The carnival transfer is $11 per person each way so roughly the same cost. The transfer is a cattle call though. Cabs are plentiful and convenient at both the port and the airport. Grab one and relax.:)

the transfer is $32 round trip. I would go for it.

Geez!....they raised the price of the transfers. :eek: Now it's a no-brainer, cabs are cheaper than carnival transfers for just two passengers.

Thank you guys for the information, we will just hop in the taxi from the Miami airport to the Port of Miami and will do the same from the Port back to airport.
