pseudochicken Posted February 18, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 18, 2009 Hey, I upgraded from an ocean view room to a guaranteed deluxe ocean view room with veranda (essentially guaranteed balcony room) for an Alaskan cruise this June on the Millenium. I was wondering if there is anything I should be aware of, or if there are any bad outcomes. Are the balcony rooms with extra noise or some inconvienence that I should be aware of? I was told by the TA (thru Southwest) that I should know my exact room between 1-6 weeks before the cruise. Thanks in advance!
CathyCruises Posted February 18, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 18, 2009 We did a balcony guarantee on Summit and it worked very well. We got our cabin assignment within about a week of paying in full. One thing you may not know is that if you are unhappy with the location you are assigned, you can change to any available cabin in the same category. For instance, we were assigned a 2A, very far forward. We were able to easily switchj to another 2A which was aft, where we prefer. There really aren't any bad balcony cabins so you did good! pseudochicken Posted February 19, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted February 19, 2009 Great to hear! Thanks for the info, Cathy! My DGF has no idea I upgraded so it should be a nice surprise for her. ;)
