Noordam - Debarkation question

We're off in June on the Noordam Rome trip. Have been on Disney and RCCL, but all Carib trips. Given the number of times we'll be debarking to see the sights, can anyone answer this question about debarkation: I get the impression there are scheduled times that make the process easier, compared to the "show up and get in line" approach. Is this correct? Can anyone provide any feedback on this general issue? With a 5 year old, we'd like to stay in our cabins as long as possible. We're SY class, and while SA would be nice, can't justify the price to get VIP debarkation. Thanks.

It'll be like what you've seen on your prior cruises. If it's not your final end-of-cruise debarkation and not a tender port, you simply go to the gangway whenever you're ready after it opens. Any line is usually quite small and moves quickly.

 

At a tender port, if you have a HAL excursion, you will meet in the show lounge and go when your group is called. If you don't have a HAL excursion you will go to another location to get a tender ticket, and go when you are called.

 

For final debarkation, you may find either of two procedures: you may be called out by color&number coded groups (distributed days earlier) or you may have a "silent debarkation" where you go within a time window assigned to you in a letter given out earlier.
