kiberkid Posted February 21, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2009 Do they provide laundry detergent in the laundry rooms? Is the casino paperless? or do they still provide coins as the payoff.. if you get one that is....
Jsipes Posted February 21, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2009 As I recall, the laundry room had a machine which sold soap in small packages. Be sure to take a roll of quarters on the cruise for the washers/dryers. The casino machines take bills or you can get HAL" coins at the cage. When you win, you have to download the $$ to your room card, then take the card to the cage for the cash.

vbmom87 Posted February 22, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 22, 2009 When we were on the Volendam in June, 2008 the detergent was provided. You pressed a button on the washing machine and the detergent self-dispensed. There were several laundry rooms, but all were busy the day we tried to use them. We did have to wait. Gsel Posted February 22, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 22, 2009 In January the soap dispensers were on the machines. BUT! The machines were frequently "out of order" and the lines were long. We did our laundry early in the morning or late at night. Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I think I will bring some soap for hand washing as we will be away from home for 3 weeks & I don't want to bring that many clothes. I was assuming there may be long waits so we chose our cabin fairly close to the laundry room to make it easier to check.... Wow.. all the things you need to think about... lol...:o

It is amazing how much you can stuff into the bag.

There were several machines out of order in each laundry room on our cruise too. I guess washing machines are not a priority for repairs, especially in this economy. It is amazing how much you can stuff into the bag. I used "laundry by the bag" on Carnival & had a couple of things ruined so I have been reluctant to use it again, but I have heard some pretty good reports lately, so maybe I will be brave & turn over my dirty clothes to the "laundry fairy" (close cousin to the upgrade fairy) & hope for the best... Gsel Posted February 22, 2009 #10 Share Posted February 22, 2009 We have also used the "laundry by the bag" and have had very good results. Had one piece lost on the Ryndam and they immediately paid for the item. To me it is well worth the extra cost, who wants to used their hard earned vacation time doing laundry?
