pkdof Posted November 22, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 22, 2004 Hi, we're on Diamond now and having a terrific time. Urgent question is about snorkeling in Cabo. Our TA said she heard Eco snorkeling on zodiac boat is best (we've been on those boats before in Hawaii and like them) but tour desk guy insists Chileno Bay snorkeling is best. Have reserved both but need to give up one by Wednesday a.m. So, which one should we go with?

avalana Posted November 23, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 23, 2004 I hope I'm not too late, but last Wednesday I did the Chlilano Bay (sp?) snorkel tour while on the Sapphire and it was great. We saw lots of fish and the crew was very nice and fun. After snorkeling they had an open bar w/ snacks. I'd do the tour again for sure.
SueSea Posted November 23, 2004 #4 Share Posted November 23, 2004 I did the Chileno Bay excursion last week. It was great. We saw a lot of fish. They warned us that jellyfish had been spotted in the area, but we didn't see any. I didn't hear anyone say they got stung, either. There were some folks on our tour who had booked the Eco tour, but it was cancelled due to insufficient bookings.
pkdof Posted November 29, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted November 29, 2004 Thank you all for your posts. We did do the Chileno Bay snorkeling on Thursday, and it was lovely. Great weather, a lot of fish. My husband and I decided that it's nicer to be on the catamarans with their facilities than on the zodiac boats, even though the zodiac boats go faster and can get you to more snorkel sites. The boat we were on, Tropicat, was very clean and well run, staff was great.
cruise pup Posted November 29, 2004 #6 Share Posted November 29, 2004 Is Chileno Bay better than Santa Maria Cove? I've seen some great underwater photos someone took on this excursion. I'm also reading about jellyfish problems there now as well.
