craftsnvines Posted November 23, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 23, 2004 Does anyone know how long I can get a courtesy hold on a cabin? any tips? I don't want to loose the chance to book a certain room and I'm waiting for payday. Thanks

Seaside2358 Posted November 23, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 23, 2004 We just booked onboard the Jewel and were given an extended courtesy hold on two ships so that we could get home and research to decide which we wanted. Still haven't made the decision. Have until 11/27...Was about a 2 week hold but I think they were being extra nice:)
Sea Island Lady Posted November 23, 2004 #4 Share Posted November 23, 2004 We were also given a courtesy hold for 2 weeks, and then it was extended for another two weeks. All this was done by our TA. We were ready to book after the first hold, by the TA extended it so that she could have time to work on the insurance and flights that would be best for us. She is a "key account" agent, so she has a little clout with the cruiselines, especially Celebrity and RCCL.
Murphy Posted November 23, 2004 #5 Share Posted November 23, 2004 Booking online can only be held for 24 hours. Our TA usually can hold for about 10 days, but at the 10 day point, she can often hold it for another 10 days as long as the prices haven't gone up and it's far enough away from cruise day. Once she held a second cabin for a couple who wanted to cruise with us but couldn't commit for almost a month before they really needed to put down the deposit.
