First Time Cruisers

We are taking our first cruise in February 5 -12 on Splendour of the Seas. I have read mixed reviews regarding this ship. I would love to hear from anyone who has cruised on this ship. We are stopping in Belize, Cayman, Costa Maya and Cozumel any excursions that you would recommend. We have two kids ages 14 and 12 so we are open for pretty much anything. Would you recommend booking excursions through ship or private. What about RC stopping in Cayman Islands are any of the ships stopping in this port at this time?

I was on Splendor in April. A very pretty ship! Please go to the Schrooner Bar and say hi to Veronica the waitress. She's a lovely girl married to a guy in the engine room. Your kids will have a great time. My husband was in Belize last week and went cave tubing. He said it was the best sure excursion he'd ever been on. He got in the river in the jungle, float through large caves (they are provided with lanterns) and through more jungle. Lunch was provided. He was on Carnival, hope RCCL has it! Have a great time!
