Xunantunich with small Child?

We will be going to belize on Carnival Glory we are thinking of going to Xunantunich mayan ruins with carnivals excursions. We have two children, youngest being 4 years old. Has anyone done this trip with a child that young. Would you recomand it or not? Are the buses well air conditioned with restrooms? We really want to see Xunantunich but not sure if this will be a smart move. Not too interested in seeing the zoo in belize. We would be grateful for any advice. Thanks.

Oh yeah Carnival also offers an excursion to Altun Ha with a river cruise would this be a better choice with a small child? Any expierience with this excursion would also be great too. Thanks again.
