OceanBull Posted March 2, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 2, 2009 My wife and I are taking the family on a cruise on the Sky on March 27 and we wondering what to do with our kids there. We have a 3 and 1 year old (soon to be 4 & 2). I am leaning towards the dolphin encounter with the platform, the one where you don't swim with them for the 3 year old, I guess the baby can just hang out. Besides the 3 year old would be free with a paying adult and the other spouse could pay the $25 to observe. We are also looking at Ardasta Gardens...if we go there though we will do it ourselves without the cruise line. The last option is the Seaworld Explorer "glass bottom boat" or "mini-sub" whatever they are calling it. The only issue there is that we did one of those on RCL private island and it nearly made my wife sick when they started rocking the boat back and forth so people could see more. I think this boat is different though. Has anybody done these things or have any other suggestions for a family with small children? :D

It's a very nice, scenic ride (about 1/2 hour) on a boat to Blue Lagoon. And the place is very, very pretty. Once you finish your dolphin encounter, there's a very nice beach with loungers, hammocks, changing rooms, etc for you to use. There is no extra charge for using the beach if you do the dolphin or sea lion encounter. There are paddle boats that you can rent and a few other things as well I believe. Boats run about every hour or so so you can stay as long as you want and return at your leisure. It's a really a great place that the whole family would enjoy.
