Vista class category F cabin

We are looking at a cruise to Alaska on the Zuiderdam. While searching for the best price on cabins I stumbled upon a great deal on a category F cabin - the ones waaaay forward next to the Vista Lounge. Does anyone have "experience" with this category? Is noise a factor due to the closeness of the Vista Lounge? There is no tub in these either. Will we miss that? Is the bathroom smaller or is there more room because of the missing tub?

Thanks your help!:)

We actually prefer just a shower to a tub. Much easier in and out, but then we have some mobility issues. Not sure how that would affect bathroom space, but can't imagine it would be significant. Just wanted to caution you about being way forward if you do have any mobility issues. The dining room is at the rear of the ship and the best access to the lido is via the middle or rear elevators, so you'll end up doing quite a bit of walking if you do have issues.

We hadn't thought about that and I don't know that we had ever been that far forward before, but we found it a bit of a nuisance. Next trip I'd book something closer to midship.

Thank you Michmike! We do not have mobility issues, but I can see where that would be a problem. Alot of walking may be a good thing for us ... hopefully eliminate any extra cruise pounds as souvenirs going home!

Did you notice any extra noise from the Vista Lounge?

I was in room 1003 on Noordam for Transatlantic last spring. The location was actually great because you could get right to the theatre & zip up the steps for casino. Now, for the bad part- I was under the piano bar- and the amps vibrated down through a column in my room. It was bad & I had my room moved. I'm usually out & about myself, but it was a heavy itinerary once we started hitting ports & I could not sleep. I could hear every word from the guy singing & asked if they couldn't turn it down. Well, they wouldn't, so after complaining I was moved. Please consider this.

Well, I guess we'll live dangerously and try out cabin 1003 on the Zuiderdam as we just booked it today! If it's too bad maybe they'll move us too or we'll have to get earplugs or something... Maybe we'll just get an incredible upgrade and not have to worry about it!:)

We were in a Cat C on the Noordam. Our room was directly under the Northern Lights Disco. I feared the worse, and was pleasantly surprised when the noise was not that great, and it ended early. Sure, I could hear the bass line on the guitar, but so what. It was a nice room, and the location was great. Steps away from the theater (no, we didn't hear it) and just up a staircase to the casino. And best of all, the view from our window was wonderful. I felt as if I could reach out and touch the ocean.
