Need to lose before I cruise... any buddies??

Hi Vickey, I am so happy and so releived to hear from you. I totally understand that your family has not been able to give us some news. Tell them not to worry about it.

 

I am glad your infection has been well taken care of. You can now think about the fight against you cancer cells. I know of a few monsters who will be pushing you up the road to recovery, right Watt ;):D I hope the pneumonia has not been to hard on you.

 

About the cruise, did you take an insurance? If so, you can look at another one a little later on. Why not around Christmas or even the repositionning one I'll be doing in May 2010. It leaves from San Juan and arrives in New York a week later. It goes to St-Thomes, to Antigua and to Bermuda on the Caribbean Princess. A repo cruise is always cheaper and that makes them more appealing, We could meet at sea and walk around the ship together!!

Good morning everyone, I will post the Anchor's Aweight table tonight. If anyone else wants to send me their weight and their measurements by then, I will update their data.

 

It is rainning again today and I will stay inside. I have a few things to do. I will keep on updating my studying for my new carrer. I will do some Hip Hop Abs, some Pilates, some walking on the treadmill and some work for my knee. It feels a lot better since I worked on it yesterday. I will prepare myself some turkey meatloaf in a muffin pan, thanks Vickey for the idea. I have been lazy in the kitchen the last few days, I have to clean it up. In other words, I have a good day ahead of me.

Do you remember those little grey pants I was talking about last spring? Well, this morning was the first time I tried them on since a couple of months. They still do not fit perfectly, but they are easier to put on and they are not as thight as they were banana2.gif

 

In the table I posted yesterday, I mentionned that my belly was at 37 inches. I did not mentionned that it was at 40 inches last March. It is a lose of 3 inches, it may not be much, but it shows and it feels good!!! banana2.gif

 

I will correct this little detail for next month. It is important because it changes my total lose for October from 7 inches to 10 inches!!! banana2.gif

 

I love the Hip Hop Abs videos, they really make a difference!!! banana2.gifbanana2.gif

 

It is now time for me to go Hip Hop Abbing!!! :D

Good morning all.

 

Hip Hop Abs is awesome. We love to put it on and workout, but the past few weeks have been tough to get moving on the working out stuff with the house and surgery. Our living room right now is filled with stuff and that is the only real space we have.

I know that with the moving, the exercise part is always left aside. As long as you keep on doing your stairs at work and eating good food :D:D:D Remember, you said you would do more stairs for Vickey ;);)

 

I am finished with my workout. I did the Hip Hop Abs, the Pilates, the AKP and spent 30 minutes on the treadmill. I had to stop because of my knee. I did a lot of stretching afterwards and now, except for the knee, I feel really good!!! These days, I don't do stairs because of my knee. I don't know what happen when I fell in the mountain, but going up the stairs can be really painful these days. I am doing the rehabilitation exercises every day. This afternoon is study time.

Missou - Thanks so much for keeping up with this... I know it's a lot of numbers! I do have one little correction though. :o My weight on Monday was 136.2 bringing my weight loss this week to 3 lbs, total weight loss to 17 lbs and 16 lbs to goal. I can use all the help I can get! :D

I wasn't sure where to post this - but I'll join in here, if it's ok?

 

When I got back from my summer vacation, I started my "diet before my cruise" on August 24th. My goal was 30 lbs, even though I knew it was a high goal! (I had 7.5 weeks)

 

During this time, I was finally diagnosed with PCOS (after which I switched my diet up, since it seems that I am definitely dealing with Insulin Resistance) and I reinjured a torn ACL and meniscus.

 

So, all that aside - I leave for my cruise tomorrow morning and my total weight loss as of this morning is...

 

20 lbs!

 

I'm still overweight, and I'll be coming back here after the cruise to keep on going. This cruise is my first, and if I like it as much as I think I will - then I will book another cruise next year, for which my goal will be at about 75 more lbs.

Missou...I see that our Anchors Aweigh little Energizer Bunny is still at it.I am glad to see you posting everyone's progress. And keeping everyones spirits up.

 

Matt...sorry to hear about wifes surgery but glad to see you have been taking good care of her. Don't worry about those extra stairs it sounds as if all the work around the new house will keep you active and busy for quite awhile.

 

Kelli....great job on the loss.And believe I missed all of you and am glad to be back on here.

 

Riddle, Kudos ......hi hope all is going good with you.

 

 

Well doctors are telling us that I still have a chance of continuing on with our cruise but would have to be careful and not over do....it is a waiting game.I think they are concerned more about my immunity being so weak and all the germs out there.

We did take out insurance that covers preexisting medical conditions and have talked to them already we can cancel up to the very minute with a full refund. But I don't want to I want to go I NEED to go.

I understand what you mean about needing this cruise, but I too am worried about you and all the germs that are going to be running around. Your body is used to fighting the ones in your house, but what about the ones that are going to be on the boat?? They are going to be new ones. It is something to think about. Maybe, taking a cruise when the fight is all over could be a celebration too. Then again, the cruise could help you store some energy to fight more agressively. Only you and your doctor know. The best is yet to come, I am sure of that!

Good morning friends... I've been AWOL but I'm back.

 

Vickey: I'm glad to see you are hanging in there. I know you face a tough decision regarding cruising versus laying low. Glad to know you have insurance that should lessen the burden should you decide to cancel.

 

Missou: Wow... getting closer to your cruise and I love your huggy bear dude. :)

 

Matt: How's the new house? Exciting times! I think of you whenever I go up the stairs at work - all 44 of them!

 

What have I been up to??? I did gain about 3.5 pounds from our Vegas trip - even with a lot of walking. We ate at the buffet 50% of the time - that would be the reason! :eek: But now I'm back to running and my morning exercises... I still want to get to where I was when I cruised and maybe even a couple pounds below. We'll see.

Today has been a good one:)

It feels so good to be home....as Dorothy from Wizard of Oz said "There's No Place Like HOME"

 

Emmysmommy...I am hanging in there sometimes it has seemed as if it was only by a thread but I have a Wonderful God who can work miracles and he has worked overtime on me lately. Along with support from family and friends.:)

How was Vegas...love that place it is so alive. Got to admit we love the buffets a little to much ourselves which ones are your favorites. Again where did you stay? Did you get lucky enough to win enough for another cruise:D

 

Matt...hope you were able to get your chair. My DH is watching Ohio State today so I am being ignored:(

 

 

Missou....I will do as the doctors say but I can pray that god will work another miracle and let us cruise. I have been anticipating this cruise for a year now and have wanted to cruise for about 30 years before DH decided to give in to his fear and decide to go on one.

 

 

I am getting my clothes washed and ironed and the suitcases out just in case:D

 

Just received an e-mail from Carnival telling us that on our cruise they will be having Halloween activities going on we had not even thought about it being so close to Halloween when we booked I could go as a Zombie since I am so pale and have dark circles under my eyes and lots of bruises on my arms from blood work and IV's or as a medical lab rat.:eek:

Good Day Everyone:

 

Thanks Missou for posting the weights and measurements. I have to confess that I have not been good since my cruise (over 2 months). I have not gotten on the scale much and I know it will not be good. I am embarrassed to post my weight and show how much of what I lost I have gained back. Also, I cannot seem to muster the motivation to get back on track.

 

With my DD's wedding a year away I know I want to get down to a weight where I will enjoy looking at myself in the pictures. Please fellow losers help me get back on track and start taking care of myself again. Since I cannot use my pool I have gotten very little exercise also.

 

Vickey - glad to see you back. I was really worried. I am so sorry about the cruise decisions you and your doctor have to make. I am hopeful you will get to go but if not remember that looking forward to the cruise is one of the best parts and you will still have that. It will not be over in week the way it would if you went. Not much consolation now I know - I am sorry.

 

Matt - good luck with the house. I have been doing some heavy yard work - I dug out several root balls from old green shrubs and today I finished putting down landscape rock. I still have two root bases to get out in another area where I will put down mulch.

 

My husband is out of the country till Friday and he has been gone for 3 weeks. I wanted to surprise him with the landscaping. Unfortunately, he was not able to close our pool before he left and now he will have a real mess to deal with.

 

Yesterday (my birthday) my DD and her fiance and I went to look at a reception venue for their wedding. We all liked it and will probably choose that for the reception. Then they took me out for a seafood dinner for my birthday and brought over a cake (yum).

I understand how you feel since the cruise Marsha, I felt like that when I came back from my trip in France. I kept on coming here and eventually you guys worked your magic. I felt more and more embarassed that I wasn't doing my exercises and I did not want to leave you, so I felt I had to start doing something, I felt compeled do to more.

 

Everyone here has helped me so much. Hubby told me that I may not have lost as much weight as I would have wanted, but my energy level has risen so much since I started working out last March. He is very greatful to all of you for the support you gave me.

 

We are going to be here for you too Marsha, you can count on it.

Good morning everyone. Well last week was a bad one for me. back to 200 this week. I blame it on all of the home cooked meals we had this week. It was nice, as neither of us had to cook, as my wife was at her mom's house pretty much everyday because she couldn't drive. Every night was a home cooked meal.

Good morning everyone!!! It is nice, sunny and cold here in Quebec brrr.. :D:D I had a good week but I know it could have been better. I started the week with a good training plan, but by Friday, I started to be lazy :mad::mad::mad: I am at 160.6 this morning which is not bad at all. If I am good this week, I should be able to get rid of that 6. Then again, it is not the first week I am saying that so... I am in my red week and I usally lose weight by the end of it. It should help. I really would like to wear my little pants on the cruise. It would be nice if they finally would fit!!!
