Sprint Service on Western Caribbean Cruise

Has anyone had any luck with the Sprint network on a western Caribbean cruise? I'm wondering what my options are if I can't get service.

 

I can bring my laptop, but was thinking it might be easier to just use the internet cafe (esp with the same charges for use)

My last Western Carribbean cruise - I was unable to use my Sprint phone in the ports - but onboard the ship I had no trouble at all. I called my kids everynight - but @ 2.49 per minute the conversation was short. Hope this helps.

 

I found also that on every cruise - I have a problem texting - which to me makes no sense especially if I had no problem placing a call.
