NOLA parking BESIDES the port?

Is there anywhere to park besides the port? We are driving in that morning and I hate to pay that much (75 dollars right?) for parking. Is there anywhere else that we can park, safely, for cheaper?

If you plan on visiting Harrahs before your trip, with 30 minutes of play you can get free parking in their garage which is across the street from the terminal and 3 blocks down. You must sign up for and use a Harrah's players card and get your parking ticket validated in at the validation desk in the casino that day. They advertise unlimited free parking for 24 hours, but as long as your car remains in the garage, your parking will be free for the duration of your cruise. I am from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and visit Harrah's frequently. I have cruised several times out of New Orleans (including a 7 day cruise) and have never paid for parking.
