dmk Posted March 11, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 11, 2009 I had made a booking at a hotel in Rome. I was asked for credit card details to reserve the room. The cancellation policy is up to 48hrs ahead. I am a month away. Now, unfortunately, I am unable to go. I have emailed the hotel and have not received a response to my cancellation. I am concerned if my credit details can be used to charge me for a room I don't stay in. Help!
Fblack Posted March 11, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 11, 2009 Send a written cancellation to the hotel and via e-mail (read and comply with their cancellation terms). . And contat your credit card company.
Dowunder Posted March 11, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 11, 2009 Contact your credit card customer service, there may be a telephone number on your card, or the issuing bank and inform them and they will stop any charge. Hotels in Italy are either super efficient with their email replies or very casual. It can sometimes take days to receive a reply. If you have a booking number for your reservation always quote that and certainly keep emailing them for your own peace of mind.
nparmelee Posted March 11, 2009 #4 Share Posted March 11, 2009 In this case, I would call them and make sure they received your cancellation.
