sandylevitt Posted November 27, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 27, 2004 I just got my docs for the fascination on the 20th. according to the "serial number"on the DOCs our cabin is U237,which is the very last cabin in the back of the boat. Is this the worse place to be. Will I get sea sick? I know we just had a catagory 6 guarentee, and this may not be our final cabin, but if it is, am I screwed? sandy
Cruising89143 Posted November 27, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 27, 2004 IMHO it is one of the better places to be. In September on the Fantasy my cabin was all the way in the aft of the ship. Very quite with no one running up and down the halls. Very little motion from the ship.
pholter Posted November 27, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 27, 2004 I love the Aft cabins.... Now that I found them, I wouldn't cruise any other way.... Enjoy! :)
Cruiser@Heart Posted November 27, 2004 #4 Share Posted November 27, 2004 I sailed on the Sensation this summer as a GTY and we were given a cabin at the back of the boat. We loved it. We didn't have the "high kid traffic" running up and down our hallway (there was no place for them to go...dead end) that I've experienced on previous cruises. In fact several of the other passengers we bumped into in our section of cabins commented on how quiet it was. Personally, I think it is a great location. cruznon Posted November 27, 2004 #5 Share Posted November 27, 2004 We just got off the Spirit in our first at cabin. It was wonderful! The view is amazing! It's quiet. We had a slight vibration, but it never bothered us. In fact is was rather pleasant---I've NEVER slept better on a cruise ship! LUCKY YOU! :) :) :)
MrPete Posted November 27, 2004 #6 Share Posted November 27, 2004 We had the very last cabin on the main deck on the Imagination. Never felt a thing, and I loved the lack of traffic.
Suzieb Posted November 27, 2004 #7 Share Posted November 27, 2004 You will find the Aft cabins some of the cabins to have. Great view and real is one of the most quite parts of the ship. You may get some prop vibration, but let it go and send to a very restful sleep Enjoy
stlrboo Posted November 27, 2004 #8 Share Posted November 27, 2004 Our next two cruises we are in aft cabins by choice!! :) 6264 on the Miracle (center/aft on stern of ship), and JS 1100 on Jewel of the Seas which is a corner/aft with a partial wrap-around balcony.. :D You'll love the cabin you are assigned.. Very quiet.... "Screwed"? NO!!
derf5585 Posted November 27, 2004 #9 Share Posted November 27, 2004 The "Back of the Ship" is in no way to be equated with the "Back of the Bus". One of the problems with the "Back of the Ship" is that you see where you have been and not where you are going. If that is not a problem the the Back is fine. sandylevitt Posted November 28, 2004 Author #10 Share Posted November 28, 2004 thanks you all. I am usually somewhere in the center, so I was wondering. DH will probably like the quietness of it. sandy
derf5585 Posted November 28, 2004 #11 Share Posted November 28, 2004 quietness of it. On the Carnival "Paradise" the Dining room was at the stern and I felt the vibration of the engines more than anywhere else on the ship.
