Rope bridge near cruise terminal?

Does anyone know anything about a historic rope bridge near the cruise ship tender terminal. I saw something about it on a roll call but there was no other information. The person who mentioned also said there was a shopping area beside it as well.

Okay.. for anyone who might be interested.. It is a swing bridge not a rope bridge. It is the only manually operated swing bridge in the world.

"Haulover Creek runs through the middle of the city, separating the commercial center from the residential and hotel district of Fort George. It was in this area where the first British settlers made their homes. Colonial type houses with their red roofs lend the town a degree of old-world charm. A unique contraption, the Swing Bridge, connects the commercial district with Fort George. Built in 1923 and a product of Liverpool’s ironworks, it is the only manual swing bridge in the world. Operators manually rotate the bridge daily at 5:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. to let tall boats pass and bringing most of the traffic in the city center to a standstill. Belize City also boasts the oldest Anglican church in Central America."

For most visitors activity revolves around Albert Street and the Swing Bridge at Haulover Creek, where the Belize Caye Caulker Water Taxi Association provides six daily excursions to Caye Caulker, with three runs going on to Ambergris Caye. Run times are between 8am-3:30pm. US$12.50 round trip to Caye Caulker and $22 round trip to Ambergris Caye.

Nearby Regent and Alberts Streets are where to find banks, a variety of shops, street vendors, and Brodies, the nation's largest super market department store.

We're thinking of checking out the bridge, Regents and Alberts streets while we visit on our cruise Dec. 18. Any comments, suggestions, concerns, advice?

I saw some pictures of a "swinging foot-bridge" (looked like it was made from rope & wood) on webshots.com that looked really cool.

Can anyone give any information as to how to get to this bridge? The title of the picture only said it was a swinging bridge over the Belize river.

Thanks in advance for any help.
