recife Posted March 17, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 17, 2009 We are going on our first cruise to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Is it best to pay for the shore excursions or explore on our own? Cruising was a hard sell for my husband and I'm not sure he wants to be with a group 24/7. Is there enough time at port to really get out and see the cities without going on an excursion? We leave May 4th. Is anyone else going on this cruise? I'ld love to have any suggestions for first time cuisers on what to bring and any other random tips.:D Thanks, JM
ldog Posted March 17, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 17, 2009 Go to the Ports of Call section of these boards. There is lots of info on the various cities that you will visit. Going on shore excursions works well in some cities and going on your own works well in others.
