SunSoaker44 Posted March 17, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 17, 2009 Does anyone know how long it takes to get one of those blue public buses to the park? And if you take one of those turtle tours from the park, are you done relatively early so you can get back into town and go on another excursion? ming Posted March 18, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 18, 2009 Bus to Folkstone Marine Park Does anyone know how long it takes to get one of those blue public buses to the park? And if you take one of those turtle tours from the park, are you done relatively early so you can get back into town and go on another excursion? You should be able to leave the gatehouse and be at Folkstone in 30-45 minutes, depending on your luck catching a transport and traffic at the time. The "tours" that are available at Folkstone, as I understand them, are impromptu. You locate a guy with a boat, agree on a price and a time window and you go for it. They are not organised tours. You could request (and pay) for an hour, or more, its up to you how long that you want to stay. If this is your first time on the island, I strongly recommend that you take a tour. You would be able to swim with the turtles, perhaps see Harrison’s Cave, Gun Hill Signal Station and Wildlife Reserve, etc. for probably less than trying to rush around and see everything by yourself.
