Kids friendly hotel & area to stay in SanDiego

Hello,

 

I am looking for suggestion on hotels in Sandiego, taking into consideration of our 2 yr old daughter.

 

We will cruise NCL to LA this fall and plan to spend 4 days in SanDiego (rent a car from LA to SD) afterwards. Our preference is 3-4 stars hotels, somewhat central to key attractions (zoo/ seaworld) but not a must since we will have our car. More importantly give the feeling of safety and allow us to walk around with our daughter in the neighbourhood for window shopping/ local attactions/ fast food. etc

 

Some of the areas available from priceline includes Harbor Island, DelMar, San Diego Coastal, Mission Valley. I am aware of the risk involve in bidding but for now just want to narrow down my choices and area.
