Waitlisted for Dinner Seating

My cruise reservations for 1/9 Mariner indicate we are "waitlisted" for Early Seating. What does this mean exactly? In fact my DH and I would prefer a later seating. If we want to make this change is it better to contact RCI right away or wait until we're on board and work through the Maitre' D? Thanks folks.

Just call, or have your TA take care of it, which is what they get paid for :D . Tell them you want off the list, that you wanted late seating anyway. There is rarely a list for late, almost always for early. Then, when you check in, look at your seapass card. It will say main or late dining and have your table number and dining room name printed on it. If it's wrong, THEN go to the dining room and ask to switch. Like the previous poster said, this is a pain. The lines are long and you'd much rather spend your first hours exploring the ship or whatever I'm sure.
