Catania to Taormina: rent a car or bus?

Our ship will be in the port of Catania on may 19. 2009 from 6 am to 3 pm. Is it possible to rent a car from 7 am or too soon in the morning. I looked for bus but I do not find timetable who suit with the time we have.
