kwbound Posted March 20, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 20, 2009 It's probably a mile to a mile and a half. The entire island is only 2 miles x 4 miles, so it would be 2 mile max. It's not a bad walk. You can walk down Duval looking in all the shops and galleries. Turn right on Olivia St and go one block to Whitehead. On that corner will be Hemmingways house and gardens, which is definitely worth touring. Across the street is the light house. You can go to the top if you want a great view of the island. From the sidewalk you can look down the street and see Southernmost Point several blocks down. It that is too far to walk for some members of your party, The Old Town Trolley Tour is definitely worth the money. You can ride it cheaper not booking through the cruise line. They will give you an informative tour and you can get off where you like and get back on when the next trolley comes along. Hope this helps. Have fun! BIG_Steve Posted March 20, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 20, 2009 It's probably a mile to a mile and a half. Been awhile, but sounds about right. The Old Town Trolley Tour is definitely worth the money. You can ride it cheaper not booking through the cruise line. They will give you an informative tour and you can get off where you like and get back on when the next trolley comes along. It can be very hot already at the end of March, and will seem worse if you're comming from the cold north. I vote trolley.

Please come over and join our roll call if you haven't already. My husband and father will be deep sea fishing. My DM, DD, and myself will be just walking around shoping taking in the sites. We hope to see the Hemingway House and the Southern Most point.
Izzy'smom Posted March 21, 2009 #5 Share Posted March 21, 2009 We were just there last month - we took the trolley, actually stayed on it until the Southernmost Point stop, and walked back to the ship from there (as we had a 1:00 tour). We did stop at the Blonde Giraffe for a piece of pie too.

Patrick45 Posted March 22, 2009 #9 Share Posted March 22, 2009 Is the trolley thing good for all day? Might not feel like walking much. Is there a website with their info on it? Thanks for the heads up!
