Puntarenas Arenal Volcano National Park

We are going on the Jan 2, 2010 NCL Star Panama Canal cruise with a stop in Puntarenas. We are in port from 8 - 5 and would like to see this volcano but do not see any ship tours.

Is there enough time to do a private tour and can anyone that has done it recommend anyone?

Thanks to all in advance for your help

We just got back and used Tucan Limo's for our tour. They were very helpful in planning our trip. Rosie helped us with our arrangements. Here is the contact information for her:

Rocio Leon rocio@tucanlimoservices.com

When we were in CR there was major construction on the road to San Jose and Tourabari park where we spent most of our day. (I think it is the only main road for the area) It delayed us about 30 minutes, but we were lucky as one group from our ship who were trying to get to San Jose never made it and had to turn around to make sure they made it back to the ship on time. Our driver got us back to the ship with plenty of time to spare but 2 of the buses from the ships tours were about 10 minutes late getting back.

I am sure if you contact Rosie she can tell you if the construction will be over by the time you are due in port and what the cost for the transport would be.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for your help, I sent Rosie an email. We hope the road work will be done (or enough) so we can make this trip.

Thanks again
