Montego Bay--need help

Well I won't say that I'm not nervous. Allittle bit about myself. My family supports me in doing this cruise,(twin boys amost 21) and my DH. We went on a family cruise last year after having to cancel a cruise in June of 2007. Our cruise last year was great, I love being with my boys and having them see everything. I did not know if I would ever cruise again because of cancer. I got Ovarian cancer 2 years ago, had major surgery and I'm still here to enjoy my life. So this is kinda a celebrating cruise for me to have FUN after going through so much. It's just different not having my family with me. So, I will enjoy this, then come back for Dr. visits again and more tests to make sure the cancer is still not back. I do this every 3 months, probally forever, but that way I will be ahead of this dreaded cancer and can stay cancer-free!!!!

Thanks for all your help and throughts on this port. I'm still re-thinking this Peat Taylor thing, I will have to be on my own at the Falls for about a hour and half sitting on the balcony waiting for the tour to finsh the falls, not sure I want to do this, plus its a 40 minute drive back and forth to our port. Might just stay on the ship.(Changed my mind AGAIN!!!! HA HA, I'm allow to do this) kmbb

sure your allowed to change your mind, it is your vacation!!!! I thought I would have a play on words and call it your Sailabration cruise!!!! Have fun, I have a friend that is in the same situation as you had has lived 13 years after her cancer was detected, she says she is not ready to go!!!! So hang in there and you will live a long, long time and many more vacations to come in your life.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just got back from my cruise. I got off the ship and looked around at the port, they have another area there that looks like a group of tents for more shopping. Boy, that did not work out, I put one foot in the gate and got all kind of offers for stuff, from beads, hand bags, a day at the beach(guy said he would "take the pretty lady, to the pretty beach") I kept saying no thank-you and turned right around and went back on the ship. I had a great day enjoying the ship, no one on board!!!! So, so much for Montego Bay on your own, that will not work. I had a great cruise and now have Dr. appointments and blood test to get done, so hopefully everything is ok, will find out Thursday. kmbb
