shadowyone Posted March 28, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 28, 2009 Hey all, we're cruising on the Valor leaving Miami on February 7, 2010 . . AKA Superbowl Sunday! Do you think Carnival will show the game on the boat and possibly the Movie screen on the Lido Deck?
bike1964 Posted March 28, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 28, 2009 Yes, they will have the game on in every bar on the ship. Trust me, you will see the game.;) Out
KenMo Posted March 28, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 28, 2009 If you haven't already, I'd start looking at hotels. (If you're arriving the day before.) They're going to go quick and be expensive. Have a great time!!
cruiserbryce Posted March 28, 2009 #4 Share Posted March 28, 2009 we just were on Princess for the last super bowl. There was merchandise for sale and many places to see the game. The Princess ships with MUTS were showing it outside so I would think CCL would do the same
FantasyLineAddict Posted March 28, 2009 #5 Share Posted March 28, 2009 I've been on 2 Super Bowl cruises on Carnival, it's a big party everywhere and they adapt shows, activities, etc. to fit.
harleydudesat Posted March 28, 2009 #6 Share Posted March 28, 2009 We were on the Conquest last year for the Superbowl. They showed it on the big screen on the Lido deck and also in the theater. Has a small buffet set up in the back with hot dogs, chicken and stuff. Had to say it was one of the best superbowl parties I have ever been to. Was fun to watch the different fans trying to out cheer each other. Everyone had such a great attitude
getmeouttaohio Posted March 28, 2009 #7 Share Posted March 28, 2009 we were on the destiny this last year. they had the game on the big screen on deck, all the bars and in the palladium. it was a good time but if you had second seating for dinner it could have complicated things. we will be on the destiny again next year during the game
gracie65 Posted March 28, 2009 #8 Share Posted March 28, 2009 We try to do a Superbowl cruise every year, lots of fun!!! The rooms will be very expensive the night before in Miami. Last time it was in Miami we ended up flying in the day of becuase even a Motel 6 was over 300.00. Made me nervous but we booked US Air so we had options in case anything happened with the first flight.

Have a great time!! I was thinking the same thing. Last time the Super Bowl was in Miami, hotels were requiring minimum stays and charging exorbitant rates. I remember someone posting that they were staying at a Days Inn for $450 per night.

I can't find any hotels, but maybe it's just too early? I'll be making some calls Monday directly to the hotels. I want to make sure I have a place to stay before I book the cruise. wrp96 Posted March 29, 2009 #11 Share Posted March 29, 2009 OUCH!!! I want to do Freedom from FLL leaving Feb 8 (Monday). I can't find any hotels, but maybe it's just too early? I'll be making some calls Monday directly to the hotels. I want to make sure I have a place to stay before I book the cruise. Not too early. Hotels usually open up bookings a year out. The Super Bowl will affect hotel availability and pricing for the week before AND after the game. And it will affect hotels in FLL too. In 2007, people had to go up to Orlando and Tampa to find hotels. I recommend booking something now that is fully refundable just to ensure that you have something and then looking for something less expensive. Denton_Geek Posted March 29, 2009 #14 Share Posted March 29, 2009 With the hotels, you might want to consider Orlando. Just get up early and drive down the turnpike.
KenMo Posted March 29, 2009 #15 Share Posted March 29, 2009 Does anyone know if the FLL Beach area is a good place to stay?? Found a 3 star on Hotwire at a price I'm willing to pay.
