Cruise leaves Superbowl Sunday

We were on the Conquest last year for the Superbowl. They showed it on the big screen on the Lido deck and also in the theater. Has a small buffet set up in the back with hot dogs, chicken and stuff. Had to say it was one of the best superbowl parties I have ever been to. Was fun to watch the different fans trying to out cheer each other. Everyone had such a great attitude

we were on the destiny this last year. they had the game on the big screen on deck, all the bars and in the palladium. it was a good time but if you had second seating for dinner it could have complicated things. we will be on the destiny again next year during the game

We try to do a Superbowl cruise every year, lots of fun!!! The rooms will be very expensive the night before in Miami. Last time it was in Miami we ended up flying in the day of becuase even a Motel 6 was over 300.00. Made me nervous but we booked US Air so we had options in case anything happened with the first flight.

If you haven't already, I'd start looking at hotels. (If you're arriving the day before.)

They're going to go quick and be expensive.

Have a great time!!

I was thinking the same thing. Last time the Super Bowl was in Miami, hotels were requiring minimum stays and charging exorbitant rates. I remember someone posting that they were staying at a Days Inn for $450 per night.

OUCH!!!

I want to do Freedom from FLL leaving Feb 8 (Monday).

I can't find any hotels, but maybe it's just too early? I'll be making some calls Monday directly to the hotels. I want to make sure I have a place to stay before I book the cruise.

Not too early. Hotels usually open up bookings a year out. The Super Bowl will affect hotel availability and pricing for the week before AND after the game. And it will affect hotels in FLL too. In 2007, people had to go up to Orlando and Tampa to find hotels. I recommend booking something now that is fully refundable just to ensure that you have something and then looking for something less expensive.

Talk about lucky, the Hilton downtown that's about 1 mile away from port is going for $459 a night, BUT I have enough Hilton Honor points to cover the night for free and they have vacancy!! :D

I'm NEVER this lucky . . . thank you work travel!!!

We were on the Caribbean Princess for the Super Bowl in 07'. We got on the ship and went to the buffet when it opened and ate there then headed up to watch the game. No dinner in the dining room that night.:)
